The Motorcade TragedyBy Jamin Greensbury at 08/28/07 10:47
Whenever the president is in town, everyone knows he must have a huge motorcade to escort him along the way. President Bush was in Rio Rancho, New Mexico to attend his buddy's fund-raiser. Once it was over, Bush and his motorcade began traveling back to the airport. In case you didn't know, the motoracde travels at high speeds to get the president quickly back to dafety at his destination. But on the way back, a police officer named Germaine Casey lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. Casey died from the injuries he received from the crash. As Bush's limo sped past, all the president was quoted saying was "Well, there goes another one."If I was president, I would have had the limo stopped so I could see if the man was alright. Even though the motorcade is designed to protect me, I'd still get out to see if I could help. If someone wanted to assassinate me, that's a clear example I'm doing something wrong in the oval office.
