An easy way to get your own ringtones!

By Jamin Greensbury at 04/15/08 18:05
A friend told me about a site that will let you upload your own music and create your own ringtones. This site is called Mobile17.com and it seems very convenient. You get your ringtones free too! The only catch is you have to wait in line for your ringtone to be made, but its not that bad. Usually it only takes about an hour or so, so just make your tone and go do something else. The great thing is that the tones are sent right to your phone.

Check this site out, it really seems like its worth it. You can also pay money to have your tones made right away, but if you only have to wait an hour, why bother?

Crash Course in Marketing!

By Wilbur Corncon at 04/11/08 15:55
I was looking up airline prices on Kayak and this advertisement popped up:

Need wheels and a place to crash?
Use Kayak's "Car Rental" and "Hotel" searches.

I guess that terminology isn't so hot for people thinking about flying!

Hamlet: The Movie

By Jamin Greensbury at 04/09/08 16:24
You must be careful when assigning English projects. My friends and I went above expectations with the movie posted below. Just as a fair warning, I'm giving this a PG-13 rating, but aren't all movies nowadays rated that? Hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

MSN Games and Toilet Paper

By Sim Bartson at 04/05/08 12:34
I just happened to look over the shoulder of someone finishing a game on MSN Games. A video advertisement for toilet paper was walking.

The ad was apparently showing you how much more toilet paper you got on roll if you purchased their brand vs some other brand.

I think the message they were trying to convey is that if you play MSN Games you'll need to use more toilet paper.

My Phone Just Went Dead

By Jamin Greensbury at 04/04/08 17:51
My phone went dead and not the regular battery dead. I have a TracPhone and its served me well for a little over a year. Anyway, my sister tried calling me from my parent's house phone and the phone just all the sudden froze up. I thought I answered the call at first, but no one's voice came out the other end. Since I couldn't do much and I needed to call my sister back, I took the battery out and put it back in, sort of like a restart. Once back in, it froze again at the title screen. I tried again and this time it worked. But I lost all of my TracPhone's units when it came back on! I still had about 45 units left!

I don't know if that was my doing or not, but it really makes me mad. It could be that its just a cheap phone and I've used it far too much. I also got one of those double minute cards last month too. Rip Off! A month later and my phone's out of commission. But it was like a $20 phone from Wal-Mart, what more could I ask for? No more TracPhones for me!

One Of My Favorites Reinvented

By Jamin Greensbury at 04/03/08 17:44
One of my favorite bands have just gotten back together and are planning a summer tour of the United States. Who are they you ask? Journey, one of my all time favorites have returned, this time with a new lead singer. Since Steve Perry dropped out some time ago, the band hasn't had that great of a lead singer since. That is until they met Arnel Pineda. He sounds great singing all the old classics. If you combine Steve Perry with Axl Rose, Pineda is sort of what you come out with.

It seems the summer tour could be planned in late summer, early fall. Not to sure about that time period though. All I know is if they're coming to anywhere near me, I'm getting all my friends to buy tickets so they can go with me. But really, I'll just go alone if no one else does.

How Can I Stay Fit Without It?

By Jamin Greensbury at 04/02/08 15:37
These graduation project presentations have really been hurting me, even though I had already given mine. These presentatins have gone on for all last week and this week as well. Throughout the whole time period, I haven't been able to play my favorite sport of dodgeball. You see, we need a teacher to go down to our school's wrestling room to play. The teachers have the keys to the door and to the the locker with the balls in them. Without the teachers, we can't play, and they're all busy with the presentations. So for the past week, I haven't gotten to play at all.

But I shouldn't be complaining using the tool known as the blog. We have to call our daily dodgeball time "Fitness Club", just so we can keep it a secret from the evil school officials. Its already banned from gym class, but isn't dodgeball almost the definition of gym class? Instead of playing dodgeball in gym class now, we have to play a game called "Spherical Avoidance." But that was quickly outlawed too.

All I know is many of the things my friends and I do quickly die out. I can't let Fitness Club be one of them!

My Practice Presentation

By Jamin Greensbury at 04/01/08 15:38
Today after school, I had to give my graduation project practice presentation. I had been dreading it because I thought that mine wouldn't be long enough (you need at least 8 minutes to pass). Turned out my fears didn't have anything to back them up. Mine was well over 8 minutes and I still needed to add more to my presentation. Stupid me forgot to introduce myself, even though the two teachers I gave my presentation to I talk to everyday. Anyways, I did pretty well.

But what bothers me is the weight these projects carry. If you fail the project, you don't pass, simple as that. You shouldn't fail the project, but there is always that unknown factor. The project requires you to write a 5 page reasearch paper and work 15 hours on a project of your choice. The two have to be somehow related, so you have to choose what you do carefully. There are certain checkpoints throughout the school year, so you really have to keep on task. Plus the higher up school officials say that this project will really help you in life. From my experience, it hasn't.

The only thing I can see helping you is the actual presentation, the one worth all the marbles. You have to get up on front of a panel of judges and show what you've done. The only thing I can see that tied to in the real world is giving presentations in the work world. At least you've had some experience doing that.
