I watched a special on the History Channel the other day talking about the technology of the Star Wars world. The program told me that man of the things in the Star Wars world, we actually already have, even if its only in the early stages. Take the robots/droids for example. With how our technology advances each day, it looks like we can have fully functioning robots such as that in maybe 20 years or so. Makes you think doesn't it?Also, if you've seen the movies, you realize Luke Skywalker gets his hand chopped off, and later gets it replaced with a robotic one. Turns out there are mechanical hands that function with your body. I believe those hands work with the nerves in your arm to somewhat function like a normal hand. What else was there? The land speeder in the movie could possibly be made. The hover technology already exists.
But then I also watched the movie I Robot the other day as well. The movie took place in 2035, and there were robots doing household chores. They weren't as fancy as the Star Wars kind, but in about 30 years, could this be a reality? Only time will tell.
