This Year's Commercials

Once again, the commercials during the Super Bowl puzzled, confused, and generated laughter among the American populace. There seemed to be more comedic commercials this year than ever, but that's not a bad thing. Many of them made me laugh. Take for instance the Diet Pepsi commercial that had everyone faling asleep. The song "What is Love" begins playing and everyone starts drinking the Diet Pepsi. All of the sudden everyone is wide awake and doing the "Night at the Roxbury" head bob. But what really makes this commercial special is when at the very end, Chris Kattan (the star of Roxbury) walks by two women doing the head bob and screams "Stop It!" Just seeing him made it hilarious.

There were many funny commercials, but there is no way I could name them all. The Budweiser commercial about the horse training to pull the Budweiser wagon was a classic. Others just made me confused, but I still laughed. Now I just have to wait to see what they unveil next year.

WOW!

Every year one sporting event draws in viewers from all over the country. That event is the Super Bowl and a new record was achieved. 97.5 Million viewers tuned into the game, making it the second most watched program in television history. The first, in case you're wondering, was the finale of MASH. Anyway, who didn't watch, what I believe to be, the most exciting futbol americano game in history?

Yes that's right, the Giants upset the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. The game kept me on edge the entire way through until the Giant's touchdown pass with less than a minute left. I fell out of my seat when I saw the feat. The whole game was just phenomenal.

The halftime show was awesome as well. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (one of the best bands ever) played a great show. I sang along to every song he played.

Sorry Patriots, but cheaters never win.
