Today, I worked only half of my normal shift. Being that I work at an internet business, I was sort of out of luck with what happened. The internet connection was out for maybe the past 2 or so hours. But it wasn't our server's fault.I would have blamed the servers if I had not looked at my cell phone the next minute. Where I work, I usually have 3 bars of service. But when my phone said 'no service' I knew something had to have been going on.
My phone provider is Verizon, which about 90% of the people in my area have. Then I realized our internet provider was probably Verizon as well. That being said, the two events had to be linked.
Was Verizon doing some maintenence? Who knows? But in the 2 hours I couldn't do a thing, I played whatever games were on the computer. Solitaire is not that fun of a game. I also colored using the Sharpies at my desk.
But I wonder if Verizon realized that they were somewhat screwing people over. What if I had to make an important call? I wouldn't have been able to.
I'm not pointing fingers at Verizon and saying they're a bad company, but its the most logical reason I could come up with.
